A Pocket Opera (Music)

  • Ely Library 6 The Cloisters ELY, England, CB7 4ZH United Kingdom (map)

Recommended for Adults and Young Adults 12+yrs

An irreverent reimagining of the story of Bizet's Opera Carmen, told from her own point of view, and with 150 years' hindsight. Dare you consult the cards with her? What does she think of the men in her story? Did she foresee her gruesome ending? And does she like the opera Bizet wrote about her? A fun-filled fantasy / comedy / drama with tremendous music from Bizet's Carmen, alongside Spanish favourites by Falla, Tárrega and Albéniz, arranged for guitars and flute/voice.
