Based on his new book “Greenewich is Missing”, Roger Leivers talks about the amazing life of Wadim Greenewich.
Born into minor Russian royalty in 1899, Greenewich’s family lost everything during the Russian Revolution. We follow his story of intrigue, espionage, imprisonment and escape – a tale that takes us from spy rings in Bulgaria, his abduction at Svilengrad, interrogation by the SS Gestapo, Dachau and eventual liberation - when he came to Godmanchester to start his recovery.
But the story continues as after a brief period in Africa, he returned to Britain and worked for the BBC Russian Service.
