Antarctic Adventure: Tales from a polar scientist

  • Histon Library School Hill Cambridge, England, CB24 9JE United Kingdom (map)

Tickets £2 per family from the library or contact BarHill.Library@cambridgeshire.gov.uk

Suitable for ages 7-14 with accompanying adult.

Calling all budding polar explorers! Join us as we set sail south to the bottom of the world, to a place where solid sea ice covers the ocean, penguins hitch rides on drifting icebergs, and giant rivers of ice flow from the land into the sea. After 6 weeks in the Southern Ocean on board the Royal Research Ship Sir David Attenborough, Roseanne Smith (PhD researcher at the British Antarctic Survey) has returned to the UK and will share her story of the amazing sights, sounds and science of Antarctica. This story-based session will include some interactive activities and even some real Antarctic ice all the way from the frozen continent.
